Each year, teachers from The Gardner Schools in middle Tennessee gather together to listen to speakers and participate in workshops to increase our personal knowledge and creativity to become the best teachers we can be.
The inservice also allows the teachers to increase bonds with each other. If we weren’t preschool teachers, we might find some of the activities completely humiliating.
In the midst of asking yourself “how funky is my chicken?”, you look around and realize this is not normal for anyone but preschool teachers. This moment is like any moment in your every day work life. How do we encounter such funny moments and phrases in our work experience and it be acceptable?
Children are the answer to this question.
A classroom explodes into giggles when teachers let loose and dance like chickens. And preschool teachers are willing to go there to induce giggles.
